Seek the Kingdom of God above all else,
and live righteously,
and He will give you everything you need.
One of my favorite things to do when I get a new computer is to find out what new programs it has in it. New programs that say that they will help me better organize my time and priorities are some of my favorites. Unfortunately, what usually happens with me and organizing tools is that I will be faithful to them for a while but pretty soon I get bored with them and I go back to my unorganized, un-prioritized self.
Recently, I read this verse in Matthew 6:33. The words jumped off the pages of my Bible! This verse clearly tells me the two most important priorities I should have in my life. As a Christian, a self-professing follower of Jesus Christ, the first two priorities in my life should be:
That’s it! Everything else that might be happening in my life should take a lesser priority. Because not only does Jesus tell me that seeking to know God better and living my life righteously should be my two highest priorities, He promised that when I make them my highest priorities He will take care of every other need that I have!
