Don’t love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.”
The love of money does strange things to people. People have lied, cheated, stolen, and even killed for money. Could someone really love money so much that they would be willing to put someone to death for it? Recently there was a story in the newspaper about a teenage girl who, along with her boyfriend, devised a plan to murder her parents and siblings so that she and her boyfriend could collect her parents’ inheritance. Just think: The love of money could drive someone to kill her own family.
Most people would never go so far as to contemplate murder to have more money. Yet almost everyone I know wishes they had more money. When asked, most people would say they wished they had more money to buy a bigger house, more clothes, and any number of other things. No amount of money or things will ever make you happy. Strive to be content with what you have right now. If there are things you believe you need, talk to God about them. Share your concerns with Him and let Him know that you trust Him to continue providing for you.
The God of the universe promises that He will never fail you or leave you. All the money in the world cannot match that guarantee!
