“This is the new covenant I will make with my people on that day,” says the Lord. ”I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.” Then he says, “I will never again remember their sins and lawless deeds.” Hebrews 10:16-18 A few days ago we started developing a Love Blueprint for ourselves. Let's keep working on that. Remember, we're using the "Love" chapter in the Bible (1 Corinthians 13) as our starting point.
As we’ve developed our blueprint for love, using 1 Corinthians 13 as our guide, we’ve considered action words like being kind and not being jealous, boastful, proud, rude, demanding, or irritable. Today we move on to focus on not keeping records of the wrongs done to us. When someone we love does something against us, we may forgive that person but it is so much harder to forget what was done. God’s Word tells us that loving someone according to His blueprint for love means that we will not keep records of wrongs done against us. How is that possible? God demonstrates to us how we can add this action to our love blueprint. You see, when we ask God for His forgiveness for something that we have done against Him, He says, “Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more.” If anyone has a right to remember the things done against Him it would be God! And yet, He promises to never hold them against us. As you consider how you will love people and how you want to be loved in return, pray that God will give you the ability to no longer remember the wrongs your loved ones have done against you.

No matter how dreary life may seem right now, there is so much to be thankful for!
Today, the first day of November, every time you think about what you don't like in your life, start thinking about ways that you've been blessed. I'll bet by the end of the day you'll feel a lot better about your life. |
