“My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.”
On the corner near my house there is a bank. I like driving past this bank and reading the interesting messages on the marquee. The other day it read, “A goal without a plan is just a dream.” For someone like me who is not a very good planner, this message made a lot of sense. If I want the goals I’ve made to become reality, I have to make a plan.
When Jesus came to earth, He had a goal and a plan. His goal was to make it possible for human beings to have a relationship with God. His plan was to live a perfect life and yet be put to death, not for anything He did but for the things that all humankind did and does. Because Jesus paid in advance for the sins you and I commit, we now have the opportunity to have a one-on-one relationship with the God of the universe! And while that relationship offers us eternal life, Jesus also promised to give us a life worth living here on earth—“a rich and satisfying life.”
Have you accepted Jesus’s perfect plan for your life?
